Today, at the age of 47, also remembers the budding spark of love when he first heard, “Rapper’s Delight.” That spark grew into an inferno, after him hearing, “The Message.” He’s always had a passion for reading, still to this day, and began crafting rhymes, even way back then. He, also, throughout his life, cultivated the gifts of many different art forms such as painting, barbering, poetry, prose, and fashion design. Pretty soon, you’ll be wearing, C4 YOURSELF.

After graduating from T.W. Josey Comprehensive High School, in 1992, he joined The United States Marine Corps, on the buddy system with his best friend, Terrence “Bobo” Turner. They grew up together, and no matter where his parents moved to, A.R. Crown always returned to High Street, with Bobo and Thomas “Mayne” Demmons, who rounded out the trio.

He attended Augusta College, where he met his producer and business partner, Badru McCoy in the mid to late 90’s. The two have been Batman and Robin ever since.
Most people say, “When you meet Crown, you will know it,” and that is so very true. A.R. Crown has a very distinct voice and diction, that is unmistakable, with a personality and style of dress to match. He was a barber by trade, and some fans would come, not for a haircut, but just to see what he was wearing that day.

For the last few decades, his Bat-Cave has been ATL, but he is a world traveler. He is quoted as saying, “Life isn’t necessarily about WHERE you’re going, but the experience of getting there.”

On his path of fulfilling his dreams, He picked up the hobby of skydiving, but can’t seem to find anyone to go with him. When asked why he waited until he’s almost 50, to start skiing, skydiving, and releasing an album, he said, with a chuckle, “Sometimes, dreams taste better when prepared in a crockpot. They might take a while, but when they’re ready, they fall off the bone.”

He is currently single, with no children. He says, “I refused to be referred to as a “baby daddy.” I want to do it right and be a husband and THEN, a father.”

He learned and developed his motivational speaking skills from being a member of “Toast Masters,” in addition to the day-to-day opportunity to motivate others as a barber. Clients became confidants and friends because of the knowledge, inspiration, transparency, and love, that he spoke into their lives.
All has not been roses for A.R. Crown, however, he had to fight through several battles and spirits. Mental health, alcoholism, and other addictions almost destroyed him, but realized, he was the head and not tail. He’s proud of those war wounds and often replies that, “God allowed me to walk through the fire, so I could come back carrying buckets of water for those still in it.” To hear him speak about the topics, in addition to stocks, cryptocurrency, changing his diet to a healthier, plant-based one, healing, affirming, and Manna FESTing, you will leave with a new mindset, with a burning fire in your spirit and the heart of a CHAMPION. You should definitely inquire about his personal consultations. They are investments into your FUTURE.

Some of his heroes include Tyler Perry and Spike Lee. They, both, with their idiosyncratic ways of telling a story, inspired A.R. Crown to attend film school, where obtained the knowledge and proper equipment to produce his own visuals and movies. In addition, to those two, James Brown, who hails from his hometown, inspired his work ethic and Barrack Obama, for giving him, “The Audacity of Hope.
